Digital photo frames. Any one?

by Irfan Syed on March 20, 2007

Gone are the days when photo frames will hold same picture(s) as long as you won’t change them. Obviously some pictures should not be changed as often (like your grandparents’, hanging in the living room) but others should be changed often (like the ones taken from a recent trip). It also was impossible to rotate the pics in same photo frame so that a visitor to your home could kill some time if you were busy cooking a dinner for him/her.

Enter the digital phone frames. They will link up via Wi-Fi to your home PC, load the selected pictures in their memory (or read directly from PC) and rotate them for you at configurable interval. It is like a never ending slideshow on your wall. These photo frames will also have built-in memory and card-reader / USB port so that they can directly connect to your camera and load pictures for display.

Samsung’s upcoming digital photo frames

Samsung is one company which recently showed off these digital frames at CEBIT. These frames are supposed to hit the market this year and provide a long needed substitute for this digital age. After all, we all take digital pictures now and don’t need a trip to printing shop every time the pictures in those frames look bit boring!
