Two non sexy developments for us in Hong Kong

by Irfan Syed on December 7, 2009

1. CSL 10101, presumably premium mobile service in Hong Kong, made their mobile browsing ad-supported today. Just like Smartone-Vodafone did to their cheapish $38 browsing plan 2 years ago. I am still trying to get a full grasp of this major development and will post more details in coming days or weeks. It was totally not expected from 1010.

2. Apple has been supposedly shipping mal-manufactured iPhones with rough edges to consumers in Hong Kong since last few weeks via their Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn’s factory in Shenzhen. More on this later too as I have not  yet determined if I was unlucky one – with 3 purchases in last 10 days after losing my iPhone 3G- AND some of some of people I know or if it is widespread.
